Sue Shanti Yoga (soon to be called Sue Shanti Yoga & Wellness) is a culmination of a life long passion for health and wellness on all levels.
Sue's yoga classes focus on the principles of classical Hatha, which has its roots in authentic tantric practices. These practices are meant to align the body and mind to find our center of peace and serenity within.
The practices themselves combine simple movements aligned with the breath to warm up the body before deeper asana practice in order to move prana and reduce injury. These movements also anchor the mind into the body. Its practices were designed to set aside the ego, stabilize the mind, develop more self-compassion and connection to the self. As a now well-known quote states “yoga is the path of the self, through the self, to the self” As we continue to practice Yoga, we begin to appreciate this meaning.
